Ukraine’s Defense Ministry said air defenses increased interception effectiveness in May despite Russia intensifying mass attacks. The ministry said Russia launched 8,351 aerial attack weapons in May, compared with about 6,700 in April. Ukraine intercepted 7,476 of 8,150 Shahed, Gerbera and Italmas drones, or 91.73%, and 112 of 211 cruise and ballistic missiles, or more than 53%.
Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces hit five vessels overnight on June 5 in Mariupol, Berdiansk and coastal waters of occupied territory. The targets included dry cargo ships and a tanker operating with painted-over names and switched-off radars.
