EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas said work is underway to unblock €6.6 billion from the European Peace Facility for Ukraine after changes in Hungary’s government. Speaking ahead of an EU defense ministers meeting, she described the release of the funds as a “very important step” and said a compromise proposal has been tabled to balance future military aid with reimbursement mechanisms for contributing states.
