Firefighters responded around 5:37 p.m. after receiving reports of smoke coming from an electrical conduit or malfunctioning transformer. About 20 minutes later, while firefighters were investigating the area, a significant explosion occurred.The transformer issue caused smoke to spread into multiple buildings, but there was no active structural fire initially.
