Ukraine signed a landmark agreement with Sweden to acquire 16 Gripen E multirole fighters. Under the deal, Sweden will also provide 16 Gripen C/D aircraft as military aid starting in early 2027 to accelerate pilot training and integration. The purchased Gripen E fleet, financed through a European credit facility with UK support, is scheduled for delivery from early 2029. The aircraft will be equipped to employ long-range Meteor air-to-air missiles.
