Ukraine has created a new naval drone unit. The 443rd naval drone division Neptun Shadow is now being formed within the 9th Brigade of the Unmanned Systems Forces. It is the fourth specialized unit using surface drones, according to Militarnyi.

A Russian Zircon hypersonic missile was intercepted overnight using a Patriot air defense system, according to the Air Force. The interception took place during the latest Russian attack. #Ukraine
An accidental missile launch was reported on Jan 31, 2026 during operation of a Russian Buk M2 air defense system. One missile deviated from its trajectory and struck a vehicle storage warehouse of the 1461st Motor Rifle Regiment in Velyka Novosilka, Donetsk region. Two soldiers were wounded and two UAZ vehicles burned. #Ukraine
President Zelensky said Russia used an energy truce to stockpile missiles and strike Ukraine during extreme cold with a record number of ballistic missiles. He said the attack targeted energy facilities and that changes to the negotiation group’s work are planned. In Kharkiv, an emergency was declared after damage to CHP 5 and substations. #Ukraine
Ukraine’s Special Operations Forces reported successful strikes on Russian military targets in occupied territories. Targets included ammunition depots and troop locations in Zelenyi Hai, unit facilities in Velyka Novosilka, and drone maintenance sites in Tokmak and near Mykilske.

Energy Minister Shmyhal said Russia shelled CHP and thermal power plants that were operating only to heat residential areas in Kyiv, Kharkiv and Dnipro. He said the targets were purely civilian, leaving hundreds of thousands of families without heat in minus 25 C cold.
A middle finger to Trump. Russia carried out its largest attack since the start of the year, striking DTEK thermal power plants and at least four major energy sites, the company said. Equipment was seriously damaged, including in Kharkiv. Power, water and heating were cut as temperatures fell below minus 20 C.

A small Russian group again attempted to break into Kupyansk-Vuzlovyi to stage a flag display, Ukrainian forces said. Battalion commander Roman Kovalov recorded a video from the settlement center showing two captured Russian soldiers involved in the attempt.

An unidentified drone crashed at a Polish military base in Przasnysz last Wednesday, Radio ZET reported. The drone fell about 70 meters from an arms depot at a military radio electronic center. The military gendarmerie is investigating, with suspicions it was a reconnaissance drone.
