The initial 300 dogs have been transferred to temporary staging areas for veterinary care and vaccinations before being distributed to shelters and rescue organizations across the country.Rescuers report that the beagles, known for their gentle and affectionate nature, are adjusting remarkably well and are already showing affection toward humans despite their laboratory background.This landmark release was made possible through a negotiated agreement between the facility and animal welfare groups, including Big Dog Ranch Rescue and the Center for a Humane Economy. The facility has also agreed to relinquish its breeding license.
