No engineer survived the sinking of the Titanic. When the RMS Titanic struck an iceberg on the night of April 14, 1912, Chief Engineer Joseph Bell and his team of 35 men, engineers, electricians, boilermakers, and a plumber, made a quiet but heroic decision: they stayed at their posts deep in the ship’s engine and boiler rooms. As freezing seawater poured in, they kept the steam engines running, the pumps operating, and the lights burning brightly across the entire vessel. Their grueling work bought precious extra time — keeping the wireless operators powered so they could continue sending distress signals, and delaying the final plunge into darkness.None of them made it out alive.Because every single member of the engineering department perished, their extraordinary sacrifice has often been overlooked in the vast retellings of the disaster. There were no survivors from their ranks to describe the rising water, the failing systems, or the calm determination with which they worked until the end. They didn’t fight for their own lives. They fought to give everyone else a better chance.Their courage ensured that the Titanic did not sink in total blackness. The lights stayed on, the pumps kept working, and hundreds more passengers had those critical extra minutes to reach the lifeboats.Science and facts💡 before 16 h. 🇺🇸 Flash floods and a massive dust storm have hit #LasVegas, bringing heavy rain, strong winds and poor visibility. before 22 h. 🇺🇸 A phone charger ignited on a couch in Vacaville, #California, erupting into flames inches from where a woman was reclining — and the home camera caught the moment it happened. He says delivering a 200 kg payload over 300 km costs about $600,000 with FP-7, compared with roughly $50,000 using an FP-2. Shtilerman says the missile makes more sense once a cluster-warhead version is codified. He added that FP-9 is in final testing. before 2 days
