A bright fireball streaked across the night sky over Beijing, China 🇨🇳 before 3 h. For more than 20 years, one man has walked the same bridge in China for one reason: to make sure people in their darkest moments get another chance. His name is Chen Si, known as the Angel of Nanjing. Since 2003, he has patrolled the Yangtze River Bridge, watching closely for people who appear ready to give up, and stepping in before it is too late. The numbers are extraordinary. Chen has helped save at least 469 people, sometimes by physically pulling them back from the edge. He has walked the bridge as many as 10 times a day, wearing a red jacket with a simple message: Cherish life every day.His help does not always end at the bridge.Chen has offered people food, money, a place to stay, and someone willing to listen. He has even helped raise funds for some of those he saved, giving them a chance to rebuild their lives after the moment of crisis passed. He is not a doctor. He is not a trained counselor. He is simply one man who kept showing up.Did you know? 🎓 before 1 days In 1954, the Industrial Development Engineering Associates company began selling the Regency TR-1, the world’s first commercial transistor radio. before 1 days In northwestern Iran, on the slopes of Mount Sahand, there's a village where families still live inside solid rock — and they've done it for more than 700 years. The place is called Kandovan. Thousands of years ago, Sahand erupted and buried this valley under a layer of volcanic ash more than 300 feet thick. Over centuries, rain and melting snow carved that soft stone into hundreds of towering cones, some over 100 feet tall. People hollowed them out from the inside, building homes two to four floors high — animals on the ground level, families above. Most doorways face south to catch the low winter sun, and residents swear the thick rock keeps them warm in winter and cool in summer, like a natural thermostat. What's wild is that even the streets were once the water channels running between the cones. Geologists compare Kandovan to Cappadocia in Turkey, but unlike Cappadocia's abandoned caves, this village is still alive today — with running water, electricity, and hundreds of people who've never wanted to leave.Did you know? 🎓 before 2 days
