Officers and two Capitol Region Mental Health Center professionals responded to a Connecticut apartment after a family member called 211 for help with Everard Walker's acute mental health crisis.Initial attempts to speak to Walker through the open door failed. Officers initially entered but retreated after concern about boiling water being thrown.Officers then re-entered. Walker tried to close the door while his son restrained him, leading to a physical altercation.Walker then pulled a knife from his waistband and lunged at an officer, prompting an officer to shoot.
