The Pokrovsk-Myrnohrad chapter has come to an end for Ukraine.
The Pokrovsk-Myrnohrad chapter has come to an end for Ukraine. Ukrainian forces have lost control of both Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad, which is now effectively in Russian hands. In recent weeks/months, the area east of Pokrovsk (zone 1) was first closed off by Russians, which initially gave Ukrainians room to defend Myrnohrad without getting outflanked. Then, after the recent fall of Rodyns'ke and the surrounding area (zone 2), the remaining positions near Myrnohrad (zone 3) became untenable. Russian troops have now also taken Rivne and Svitle, just west of Myrnohrad. A Russian build-up of troops is now being observed in the western part of Pokrovsk to intensify the attack on Hryshyne. Russian troops are also now carrying out attacks from Rodyns'ke in the direction of Bilytske and the area east towards Hryshyne.
