US forces intercepted Russian military aircraft near Alaska, NORAD said. The formation included two Tu-95 strategic bombers, two Su-35S fighters and one A-50 airborne control aircraft. The US deployed F-16 and F-35 jets, an E-3 airborne radar and KC-135 tankers. NORAD said the Russian planes did not enter US airspace and posed no threat.
