Major General Ihor Skybyuk is a Hero of Ukraine and recipient of the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky. During the full-scale invasion, he commanded the 80th Air Assault Brigade, whose units fought in the defense of the Kherson sector and helped liberate Izium during the 2022 Kharkiv counteroffensive. He became deputy commander of Ukraine’s Air Assault Forces in 2023, took command in 2024, and was appointed deputy chief of the General Staff in 2025.
