Ukraine struck the Syzran oil refinery on August 4, around 900 km from the border. The attack hit the LCh-35/11-600 catalytic reforming unit, which produces key components for gasoline. The assessment says the refinery may now have to produce lower-quality fuel or import replacement components, potentially increasing the final product's cost. The same unit had also been damaged in an earlier strike.
