Russia's Black Sea Fleet lost two Kalibr carriers in the August 12 strike on Novorossiysk naval base. Frigates Admiral Makarov, the fleet flagship, and Admiral Essen reportedly suffered critical damage and are out of service for at least a year. Essen's 3S14 launcher and Trebovaniye-M combat system were destroyed, while Makarov suffered an internal detonation and burned-out 3S14 launch cells.
