HUR says the facility experiments with dangerous viruses and other pathogens under cover of veterinary and physiological research. The surrounding waters have been closed to fishing, swimming and boating since 2023, while the complex is heavily guarded and protected by air-defense systems, according to Ukrainian intelligence.
