Around 10 Ukrainian drones struck Russia's Metafrax Chemicals plant on September 11, reportedly forcing a complete shutdown. Formalin, pentaerythritol, urea and hexamine production units were hit, along with an oxygen-nitrogen station and the main step-down substation. Hexamine is a precursor for RDX and HMX explosives, while pentaerythritol is used to produce PETN for detonators and other explosive components.
