OSINT researchers say they geolocated production of Russia’s Harpy-A1 strike drone to the former No. 300 production site of the Izhevsk Mechanical Plant, acquired by IEMZ Kupol in 2019. Building No. 12 was identified as the final assembly workshop. Russia’s Defense Ministry reportedly awarded Kupol a contract worth over 1 billion rubles in 2023 to establish Harpy-A1 production. The Shahed-136-based drones have been repeatedly used in strikes against Ukraine.
