Satellite imagery analysis indicates the October 30 Ukrainian drone strike on Russia’s Novokuybyshevsk refinery was one of the most damaging attacks on a Russian refinery this year. Significant damage was identified at the AVT-9 and AVT-11 crude distillation units, a diesel hydrotreating unit, two nearby unidentified installations and parts of the refinery’s tank farms. The actual impact on refining capacity still needs to be determined.
