A tiny aircraft is teaching endangered birds how to migrate. Young northern bald ibises are being trained to follow a small aircraft along their migration route from Germany toward their wintering grounds in Spain. As part of a conservation effort to reintroduce the species to the wild, young birds are raised in captivity. Since they have no experienced ibises to learn the traditional route from, conservationists act as foster parents and teach them the migration path. The goal is to rebuild a self-sustaining migratory population of this endangered species.Did you know? 🎓
