Hernando County deputies put out the dashcam and bodycam from the Oct. 3 shooting on Lori Drive.Kevin Joe Monday, 59, a registered sex offender and convicted felon with a history of battering cops, had threatened a girl under 10 that afternoon and taken off before deputies got to the house.Around 8 p.m. a deputy found him near Hunters Lake Road and Lori Drive. Monday stopped, jumped out, and started shooting into the patrol car. Backup rolled in from the highway, Monday turned the gun on them, and at least two deputies returned fire. He died at the scene.
