Fire Point co-founder and chief designer Denys Shtilerman says the FP-7 ballistic missile has already seen combat use, but its current high-explosive fragmentation version is too expensive for routine employment. He says delivering a 200 kg payload over 300 km costs about $600,000 with FP-7, compared with roughly $50,000 using an FP-2. Shtilerman says the missile makes more sense once a cluster-warhead version is codified. He added that FP-9 is in final testing.
