Fire Point co-owner Denys Shtilerman told The Atlantic that in spring 2024 he asked businessman Timur Mindich to use his political connections to open classified Ukrainian archives containing Soviet missile technology.Shtilerman said S-300 production documents helped Fire Point learn to copy Russia’s newer S-400 system and develop the FP-7x missile for the Freyja antiballistic complex. He said he later agreed to sell Mindich half the company for $100 million, but neither that deal nor a proposed sale of one-third to the UAE’s Edge Group for $780 million was completed.
