VChK-OGPU reports that Maj. Gen. Valery Plokhotnyuk, a former deputy commander of Russia’s 49th Army, and Daniil Peredriy, son-in-law of Aerospace Forces chief Alexander Chaiko, also died in the August 1 explosion near a restaurant where Chaiko’s 55th birthday was being celebrated.
