Ukraine and the U.S.

Ukraine and the U.S. are jointly working to modernize older S-300 missiles or develop a newer variant with improved capabilities, retired U.S. Army Col. Robert Hamilton told PBS. He said the updated system is expected to become operational near the end of 2026 and could support production of 100 to a couple hundred interceptor missiles per year. In 2024, then-U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said the two countries were also developing a replacement for the S-300.
