Exilenova+ analysis of Ukraine’s August 8 strike on the Syzran refinery says multiple stages of the plant’s refining chain were hit: AVT-5 and AVT-6 primary processing units, the 43-102 catalytic cracking unit, PGI-DIG/280 high-octane gasoline production, L-35/11-600 catalytic reforming and the KAS hydrocarbon-processing unit. A smokestack also collapsed onto L-35/11-600 after a drone hit, causing major damage. The unit is assessed to be out of service indefinitely.
