US Defense Secretary Hegseth, Gen. Caine and CIA Director John Ratcliffe met at the White House shortly after Ratcliffe returned from Russia, according to media reports. Analysts said the hurried timing and apparent briefing of senior US and military leadership may indicate Ratcliffe brought a message back from Moscow. Separately, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte is set to meet US Under Secretary of Defense Elbridge Colby in Brussels, where Colby will also join a North Atlantic Council meeting.
