Brigadier General Sviatoslav Zaits has formally taken over as commander of Ukraine's Ground Forces following his appointment by presidential decree. Commander-in-Chief Mykhailo Drapatyi said Zaits was chosen for his command experience, ability to deliver results and adoption of new technologies. His priorities include realistic training, merit-based leadership, rapid integration of battlefield lessons and technologies that provide combat advantages while reducing risks to troops.
