There are still plenty of unknowns around Lyman, but the broad outline is becoming fairly clear.
There are still plenty of unknowns around Lyman, but the broad outline is becoming fairly clear. Russian forces appear to have pulled back toward the Zherebets, mainly along the Ivanivka-Zarichne line, after coming under growing pressure from several directions. Elements of the 2nd and 144th Motor Rifle Divisions were at risk of being cut off, although the area never fully closed and routes east remained open. Ukraine quickly moved into positions the Russians abandoned.Lypove, Nove and Katerynivka are now broadly considered liberated. Zelena Dolyna, Serednie, Derylove and large parts of Shandryholove are also believed to be back under Ukrainian control, but that still needs confirmation and clearing appears to be ongoing. Russian sources now acknowledge Ukrainian troops approaching Ivanivka from two sides, with additional pressure coming from Stavky. They claim roughly 100 Russian troops remain around Ivanivka with only a narrow route left toward the Zherebets reservoir. Kolodiazi is still unclear.
