Ukraine's HUR says its FERRATA unit joined the Air Force and other security and defense elements in a September operation to protect Kyiv's airspace. As part of a layered air-defense system, the unit used Katran unmanned platforms carrying interceptor drones and radar reconnaissance equipment. HUR operators also practiced coordination between the unmanned component and F-16 crews to detect and eliminate hostile targets from the air and water.
