Commission spokesman Balazs Ujvari said the interceptors were approved only last week and payments can proceed after the contracts are received and reviewed. The EU is currently funding earlier production schedules focused on drones, missiles and fighter aircraft, with €11.7 billion disbursed for defense in 2026.
