Republican Rep. Michael McCaul criticized the lifting of sanctions on Russian oil. While acknowledging the goal of lowering diesel prices, he warned the move “will only fund the Kremlin’s war machine,” encouraging further violence and destruction. McCaul said the Lindsey O. Graham Sanctioning Russia and Iran Act had given the president significant authority and leverage over Russia and China to push for a negotiated end to the war.
