Ukraine will strengthen the ability of Navy ships and boats to counter Russian drones, Commander-in-Chief Syrskyi said during a working visit to Odesa. He visited Navy strike units, Neptune coastal missile systems, ship and boat forces, air defense and anti-boat units.
Ukraine’s Navy said Russia deliberately struck the Turkish-owned dry cargo ship ANT with a UAV as it sailed from an Odesa region port to Turkey under Vanuatu’s flag. A fire broke out after the hit, and 2 wounded crew members were evacuated by Ukrainian Navy boats.
Russia is seeking to take control of the Zatoka bay to create a threat to Moldova and support its forces in Transnistria, said Tymochko, head of the Reserve Council of Ukraine’s Ground Forces. He stressed this is his personal assessment but warned that Moscow has not abandoned its aggressive plans toward Odesa and Mykolaiv.
